Osnova Solutions reviewed new minor version of SugarCRM 6.4.0 which provides quite few new features, enhancements and other changes helping to improve effectiveness of daily work with CRM as well as fixes of some bugs.
A lot of improvements in the new version are related to Calendar.  Standard SugarCRM calendar recently was lagging behind other calendar applications like Google Calendar, Outlook which contributed to appearance alternative commercial and free calendar applications for SugarCRM like Calendar Web 2.0 by CARRENET,  ECalendar and the most popular Calendar 2.0 by Ryuhei Uchida. Now it looks like Sugar decided to catch up  with rivals by improving it’s own application.
Improved Features of the Calendar
•    Very conveniently “drag-and-drop” now works for calendar events. Now rescheduling meetings, calls and tasks in SugarCRM is much easier and can be done with just two clicks.



In order to make creation of tasks and meetings easier, as well as to make changes, the editing form was improved. Click on any time slot to create a meeting or call. To change information is also possible in the quick edit forms.



•    Unlike version Sugar 6.3, where the meeting lasting more than 30 minutes was divided into two elements in the calendar, in the version Sugar6.4 long meetings are displayed undivided, as one element.

•    Calendar was added into the list of dashlets.




•    Colour identification of meetings, tasks and calls has improved. Now they are easily distinguished in the calendar. Meetings are displayed blue, calls – red, and tasks – green.



•    Now user can change the first day of a week in monthly view. Just choose any day as the first preferred weekday on the user settings page, and this will affect the monthly view.
